Regarding that Draw-Bridge set . . .

In the preceding post, I mentioned a Draw-Bridge set that Mike Goodall had recently obtained.  At the time he told me about it, he did not know which booklets were included with the set.  Now, my guess might have been Draw-Bridge, for one, and Royal Auction Draw-Bridge, which were part of a related set discussed elsewhere in this blog.

However, Mike tells me that one of the booklets was a copy of Bridge — Thirty-Third Edition, 1919 — which had Hoffmann’s real name, with his pen name in parentheses.

The other booklet was Draw-Bridge, October 1919.

Since Professor Hoffmann passed away in December 1919, that booklet is probably one of the last editions  — maybe the last — of Goodall’s Bridge booklet to be published during Hoffmann’s lifetime.
